Citizens Property Insurance Corporation was created by Florida’s legislature in 2002 to serve property owners in high-risk areas and provide much-needed property coverage to Floridians who can’t obtain coverage in the voluntary market.    We are the largest P&C carrier in the State of Florida and we are growing!  Currently the following opportunity is available in our Tallahassee office:

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  The application architect core responsibilities are to develop and publish architecture standards for the areas responsible for, mentor functional development teams on standards and best practices, provide continuity for major application solution decisions and actively participate in pilot project architecture, design and development.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL, BASIC AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION.  THESE FUNCTIONS ARE NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF ALL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, AND SKILLS REQUIRED.

§         Architect enterprise wide application frameworks to promote reuse and maintainability in business applications.

§         Evangelize enterprise standards and frameworks through training boot camps for different development groups.

§         Participate/consult with initial phase development of new projects.

§         Document and publish standards, best practices and reference implementations.

§         Be able to balance varied tasks and projects and quickly shift focus amongst various systems and applications

§         Work effectively in a team environment

§         Will serve as “go to” person in one of the following specialties.

Minimum Requirements:

§         Master’s Degree or equivalent experience.

§         Experience configuring and developing with SQL databases

§         At least 5 years of J2EE application development experience.

§         At least 3 years of SQL experience.

§         At least 2 years of experience with application development frameworks.

§         At least 2 years of experience with Spring Framework.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

§         J2EE

§         Spring 2.0

§         iBatis

§         FLUX experience – strongly preferred.
