Description
To design, analyze, install, maintain and implement the Department-wide computer network systems and related equipment; and perform a variety of related work, as required. Microsoft, Apple/ Macintosh Data Storage, Server and workstation experience a must.
Essential Functions
Must have mid level to extensive experience in supporting MAC desktops and serversPerform project management functions, including coordinating all resources assigned to a project, developing project plans, scheduling, defining tasks, assigning resources, performing technical evaluations, and leading project personnelTroubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems on file servers, personal computers and peripherals, using a variety of specialized diagnostic tools and equipment, as neededAdminister and maintain network and desktop accountsMaintain network security authentication Assist in the administration of the company e-mail system Assist telecommunications vendors to design, maintain, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling and equipment Coordinate upgrades to existing computer communications, file servers, and other network equipment and software to prevent obsolescence Participate in the planning, coordination and implementation of wide area network connectivity, as neededStage and configure equipment, as required, for integration into the network and servers Provide technical advice to other technical and inter-department staff members Identify, plan, and implement disaster planning and data recovery, including file backup, restoration, and disk imaging Maintain and support external applications, as needed Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of information technology; make recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency of operations Perform related duties and responsibilities as requiredKnowledge of

Two year of experience supporting Mac OS X, wide and/or local area network systems, including hardware, network operating system software, and user application software.
Training/Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, information technology or closely related field or equivalent training, education and/or experience.
The following certifications are desirable
Those certifications obtained through the Macintosh/ Apple, Microsoft Certified Professional Program, Novell Professional Certification program, Cisco Internetworking Certification Program, or American Management Association, or any other approved information technology certification.
