Yoh Scientific has a contact opportunity for a Animal Health Technologist, IV to join our customer in Connecticut.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinates and conducts preventive medicine program ( in processing physical examinations, disease control and surveillance programs, dental  prophylaxis,
• Maintains and operates aseptic surgical suite, including provision of peri-operative care  of surgical patients, including induction and maintenance of anesthesia , pain management, fluid and antibiotic administration and wound management
• Administers basic veterinary treatments under guidance of a veterinarian.  Conducts  periodic animal health rounds and communicates all abnormalities to an Animal Resources veterinarian
• Collects specimen and submission of samples to diagnostic laboratory for analysis
• Participates in-service training and directed workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge base
• Writes standard operating procedures and work processes.  Provides training to junior staff and research personnel in animal care &use technical procedures  
• Applies knowledge of technology/science to independently problem-solve or contribute significantly to project team problem solving 
• Maintains high level of expertise, learn and utilize new techniques and technologies to enhance operations. Communicates progress via technical reports, presentations at relevant  scientific/specialty  meetings and publications
• Participates as representative in departmental project teams, assume specific responsibilities  for departmental operations/policies based on technical abilities or experiences

Skills and Experience Needed:
• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in veterinary animal health technology or equivalent program
• Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technician with 7 years practical experience as veterinary technician or 10 years experience as an animal health technologist and AALAS certification at LATg Level
• Completion of 2-year ILAMS management course
• Working knowledge of animal welfare regulations
• Proficient in veterinary anesthesia and dental hygiene procedures
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
