Analytical Chemistry Lab – Analytical Chemist

 

 Job Responsibilities:

·         Perform routine in –house projects and testing such as:

Non volatile residue (NVR), Total Organic Carbon (TOC), FTIR, UV/VIS and HPLC, GC, and GC/MS on filter extractables.

·         Critically review work instructions and discuss with manager timelines. Work independently and maintain own schedule while meeting expected target dates

·         Design and run non standard laboratory work under the supervision of Project Manager and or Senior Lab Manager.

·         Write detailed laboratory reports, analyze data, and form conclusions in format suitable for review by Project Manager

·         Interact with project and lab managers to discuss projects. This would include progress of project and any pertinent observations or testing deviations

·         Research new test methodologies for non standard test procedures

·         Adhere to laboratory safety and policies. 

·         Responsible for lab cleanliness, and ordering and receiving material and reagents.

·         Suggest ideas/actions to improve laboratory equipment, output, or atmosphere.  Participate in lab team projects. Attend scientific seminars.

 

Requirements:

 

Education and Experience:

BS/MS Degree in Chemistry with minimum 5-7 years laboratory (academic or industrial environment ) experience.Strong instrumentation experience in GC,HPLC, TOC and UV/VIS. Mass spectroscopy experience a plus

Other Requirements:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Excel software.
