As a member of the Global Analytical team, the applicant will apply their expertise in separations science to characterize the composition and structure of polymeric systems in support of SABIC Innovative Plastics’ growth programs and ongoing production. As an integral member of product/process development teams, the applicant will be responsible for introducing innovative analytical techniques and generating critical data needed for the advancement or commercialization of new technologies. Further, they will make recommendations and decisions on testing and data analysis for the manufacturing and commercial teams. The applicant will collaborate with other separations specialists globally for training and establishing a strategy for chromatographic analysis in the company. The applicant will guide the work of laboratory technicians and contribute to the technical vision, advancement, and operation of Selkirk’s analytical laboratory.SABIC Innovative Plastics seeks motivated, goal-focused individuals who are proactive in problem solving and have the leadership and communication skills needed to help a diversified global business achieve its goals. Qualifications: To qualify, an applicant must have a PhD in chemistry or materials science with demonstrated technical expertise in the characterization of materials through separation science such as GC, GCMS, HPLC, and/or SEC/GPC. The applicant should have a strong research and development track record. The applicant must have a proven ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects simultaneously and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team. The position requires excellent written and oral communication skills. The applicant should have an understanding of statistical analysis tools. Basic knowledge of polymer systems and their characterization is desirable. Prior experience working with complex projects involving customers, commercial, manufacturing, and other technology groups is a plus.
