Mathematics Instructor Full-time 9 - month contract SALARY: Based on College's salary plan, commensurate with education and work experience. Starting Salary Range: $4202 - $4841 /monthly (2007-2008 scale) QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Master's degree in Mathematics or a Master's degree in a related field and 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics with at least three years of teaching experience. Preferred: Community college or university teaching experience, basic computer skills and experience teaching online courses RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach mathematics courses in the college transfer, associate degree and developmental areas including but not limited to statistics, calculus, and college algebra. Other tasks will include development of course objectives, tests, advising of college transfer students, committee assignments, and other reasonable duties as assigned by the College. Work hours may include day, evening, and weekend hours. REQUIRED: Applicants for full - time faculty positions are to submit a statement on their philosophy of teaching and learning as it relates to the community college setting. Applicants called for an interview will be requested to present a fifteen - minute lesson on a subject chosen by the screening committee.
