Yoh IT has an opening for an AIX / Unix Administrator in Delaware County, PA.

Installs, supports, and maintains the midrange UNIX systems environment supporting an aggressive client/server implementation. Acts as security officer for UNIX midrange environment and must develop an effective disaster recovery plan. Works with I.S.T. Technology and Architecture team to define technology directions. Flexibility in hours will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supports midrange UNIX technology in a heterogeneous inter-network, which currently includes Microsoft NT servers, AIX servers, and IBM AS/400’s.
• Provides system integration and network design services as they pertain to the integration of Unix into the existing environment.
• Creates and maintains scripts that assist in the effective administration of UNIX systems.
• Responsible for hardware configuration, installation, performance tuning and upgrades for any and all midrange UNIX devices.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and problem resolution for UNIX servers, the network infrastructure related to Unix and the client/server environment.
• Trains operators to handle operational tasks such as problem resolution and backup/recovery.
• Understands corporate priorities and makes systems improvements and is part of implementations based on best practices to ensure operational excellence.
• Develops and implements Unix systems security methodology while remaining consistent with other corporate systems.
• Designs and tests a disaster recovery plan for UNIX systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Four years experience supporting UNIX systems in an environment where the systems are mission-critical.
• Expertise with AIX necessary.
• Expertise with IBM SP/2, Oracle, MQ Series, middleware and Microsoft Exchange are strong pluses.
• Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networks is required.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows 3.x and NT Workstation and/or Windows 95 in a networked environment are required.
• Strong communication ability, analytical skills, problem solving skills and ability to deal with people in a business-like and efficient manner.
• Must have positive attitude and be customer focused.
