DRS TSI provides capabilities required to repair, modify, overhaul, and service U.S. Coast Guard HC-130 aircraft, their subsystems and associated components including procurement, planning and ground support. DRS TSI performs T-56 engine module repair/rework facility in support of the aircraft.
Engineering Technical Support
DRS TSI provides technical support, engineering, project management, system integration support, modifications, field services and management support that includes: Performing analysis and devising solutions to complex problems for the maintenance of field and depot ground support equipment. Perform tracking, balancing and vibration analysis. Producing all required technical material to support the ongoing engine replacement project for the HH-65 helicopter fleet. Updating and producing graphics and warnings for the HH-60J manuals. Provide technical support, engineering, project management, system integration support, modifications, field services and management support. Maintaining Coast Guard aircraft publications for all aircraft types
Position Summary: Develops patterns and templates lays out, cuts, forms, joins, assembles and installs various aircraft structural items such as controls and flying surfaces which have combined and curved edges or irregular curves and planes. Evaluates structural damage to sheet metal systems, structures, or items in order to plan and layout repair and modification projects, involving many different metals including stainless steel, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb material, and alloys. Examines aircraft fuselage and metal structures to assure proper repairs and maintenance. Must maintain a safe and clean and FOD free work area. Cleans, lubricates, and maintains the tools, equipment, and supplies of the trade involved. May transport, store, or use hazardous materials and hazardous wastes (HAZMAT) during operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: Must possess knowledge of corrosion and metal crack identification along with repair procedures. The mechanic performs and/or assists with functions associated with other trades. Must have ability to read, understand, and apply trade or administrative guides such as technical manuals, technical orders, standard repairs, blueprints, sketches, and other related documentation. Verifiable certificates and education should be noted in resume.
Basic Qualifications: Civilian or Military Aviation Technical School and five (5) years total experience OR 8-10 years of aircraft sheet metal/structural experience, preferably on C-130 aircraft.
