Job Description If you have a strong record of prior outside sales success and the confidence to develop and maintain quality relationships with automotive dealers, then we may have the perfect career for you! Working closely with automotive dealers in an assigned territory; the right candidate will provide a consultative sales-assessment of their Internet advertising needs, and offer creative solutions to help them reach their business and sales objective.

Responsibilities Territory Management: The successful Advertising Consultant (AC) will determine geographically where to spend the days of each week. Develop cooperative relationship with key team members: The successful Advertising Consultant will build relationships not only with customers but the internal team as well. Build relationships with dealers. Prospecting. The successful Advertising Consultant will determine how much activity is needed to make quota and keep the pipeline full. Competitive Media. A successful Advertising Consultant knows their universe, for example rates and selling points for competition such as radio, TV rates, other internet sites, run rate for their local newspapers, etc., which is constantly changing, requiring consistent updating. Internal Systems. The successful Advertising Consultant will be proficient using internal systems. Consultative Approach. The successful Advertising Consultant will do a needs analysis and only recommend products that are appropriate to the dealerships needs. Responsiveness. The successful Advertising Consultant will respond quickly to the team and customer. Non Dealer Relationships. The Successful Advertising Consultant will create positive relationships with companies that partner with AutoTrader.com (such as Dealer Specialties, Manheim Auctions, etc.). Community. The successful Advertising Consultant will be an asset to his community and to his company. The Advertising Consultant will look for ways to help AutoTrader.com to enhance its position in the community.

Qualifications Strong record of prior outside sales success (3 + years) Develop and maintain quality relationships with automotive dealers Able to work closely with automotive dealers in an assigned territory Able to give a consultative sales-assessment of their Internet advertising needs Superb communication (written, oral, and listening) and organizational skills A basic yet thorough understanding of computers and the Internet Ability to work effectively out of your own home Prior media and/or advertising sales experience is a plus Prior experience selling to automotive dealers is also a plus We offer one of the advertising industry's most competitive compensation packages of $90,000+ per year (including base salary & commission).
