Position Description:

Would you like to use your sales and marketing experience in the higher education environment?  As an Admissions Advisor, you will have the opportunity to help people make a positive change in their lives by advancing their education.  You will be responsible for generating student enrollments by calling on prospective students, advising them on which degree programs will fit their educational needs and assisting with their application for admission.  Admissions Advisors also attend community outreach events and informational meetings.


City University of Seattle is creating an applicant pool for upcoming vacancies.  Currently we have one opening in Tacoma, and want to develop a pool of qualified candidates for this and future openings.

Job Duties:

1.    Respond to new student inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

2.     Communicate with prospective students by phone (inbound and outbound) which will include establishing rapport, overcoming objections/concerns, making suggestions, closing and referral generation.

3.    Conduct on-site campus tours with prospective students.

4.    Assist students with the admissions process and payment.

5.    Maintain knowledge of all academic programs and policies and University business procedures.

6.    Participate in civic, community and business events to promote image of the University and to obtain leads for student recruitment.

7.    Conduct sales presentations publicly to groups of all sizes with the primary purpose of recruiting new students to the University.

 

Position Qualifications:

1.    Bachelor degree or equivalent.  Masters degree preferred.

2.    3 to 5 years of related experience including proven prospecting, telephone appointment setting, interviewing, closing, customer follow-up and customer service.

3.    “Inside” sales experience (outbound calling) preferred.

4.    Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

5.    Ability to excel in a fast paced, multi-task technological environment.

6.    Self motivated to set and attain goals and to demonstrate ability to meet performance standards and deadlines.

7.    Ability to pass background check.
