The Legal Department of a leading global hedge fund and private equity fund management firm is looking for an experienced, intelligent, highly-motivated self-starter to join us as an administrative assistant supporting the Legal Department in a wide range of legal and regulatory matters.

Responsibilities include (without limitation):
- Working closely with counsel and paralegal to coordinate confidentiality agreement processing, including filing, tracking and conflicts checks.
- Tracking Continuing Legal Education schedules and CLE compliance status of Legal Department members.
- Monitoring and organizing corporate and transaction documentation, including formation and governance documents, stock and asset sales agreements, services agreements, etc.
- Creating and revising PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets containing financial data and Word documents containing legal and other materials.
-Serving as a point of contact and liaison for Legal Department members in global affiliate offices.
- Assisting in collecting and organizing information for Legal Department audits.
- Identifying and examining Legal Department filing and administrative requirements, and developing programs and processes to address and update them.
- Creating, processing, and tracking expense reports (including conversion of foreign currencies to US$).
- Coordinating and making travel arrangement for Legal Dept., Compliance Dept., and other members of the firm and creating and distributing itineraries for same.
- Filing Legal Dept. documents (both hard copy and electronic).
- Circulation and tracking of meeting planners.
- Coordination of schedules of Legal Dept. members.
- Maintaining calendars for the Legal Dept., including, without limitation, vacation schedules and travel calendars.
- Maintaining up-to-date "Outlook Contacts" for Legal Dept.
- Overall document management for all Legal Dept. documents.

Position Requirements:
We are looking for someone who is smart, diligent, detail-oriented, interested and energetic. We put a premium on organizational ability, efficiency of execution and follow-up, and the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree with strong academic record.
- Minimum of 4 years of full-time relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2007 applications (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superb interpersonal and project management skills.
- Common sense approach to problem solving and prioritization.
- Ability to make decisions within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and process a high volume of work while maintaining the highest quality.
- High energy, a proactive attitude and desire to contribute and improve - Comfortable giving and receiving criticism.
- Flexible, open-minded and comfortable asking questions.

In addition, experience in the following areas, though not required, would be a plus:
- Confidentiality agreements and conflicts of interest checks (a strong plus).
- Familiarity with the legal and regulatory aspects of financial services, hedge funds or private equity funds.
- Corporate entity formation and formalities (US and non-US), board minutes and knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
- Qualification as a notary in Connecticut.
- Proficiency with additional computer applications or programs, and ability to integrate new technology and software into existing work flow processes.

Hours: 8AM-5PM with flexibility to work some overtime
