First American Title Company, a Fortune 300 company is seeking a Accounts Payable Manager to join our winning team located in Tallahassee, FL. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the leadership of a team of employees in the completion of Accounts Payable functions and processes. Position requires daily interaction with Accounts Payable Staff, Disbursement Staff, Operations Management and Vendors to bring timely resolution to issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Lead a team of employees in the completion of the Accounts Payable function which includes planning and executing the following processes: o Complete matching process of invoices to purchase/receiving documents – automated as well as manual matching o Proper accounting for payment of invoices that are matched manually o Balancing Accounts Payable sub-ledger to general ledger o Payments to vendors in accordance with payment terms • Communicate, educate, train and follow-up on the implementation of system-wide Company initiatives that relate to Accounts Payable • Ensure systems and processes are in place in order to effectively train and develop new and existing team members • On a daily basis, respond to questions and interact with vendors and various levels of management to provide response/resolution in a timely and thorough manner to all internal and external customers • Document all internal procedures to meet with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance standards • Ensure that Accounts Payable team meets productivity standards by reviewing productivity reporting, training team members, developing, and implementing initiatives to improve overall team productivity. • Maintain all files in a neat, organized manner following Company file retention guidelines • Perform other duties as needed to ensure efficient & effective performance. • Identify and develop process improvements that will increase accuracy and speed with which the invoices are processed and paid • Train, coach and hold staff accountable for achieving established and new performance standards. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Position requires limited overtime hours. Additional job qualifications include: • Minimum two years experience as AP Manager in a high-volume, multi-unit environment. • Ability to make sound decisions within defined parameters to resolve vendor and operation inquiries • Strong verbal communication skills, including telephone etiquette • Strong written communication skills • Strong organizational skills • Ability to multi-task • Knowledge of accounting principles related to Accounts Payable • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
