Description:

Global alternative investment firm with $11 billion under management seeks a Business Analyst to act as a liaison between the technology department and accounting department.  He/she will work closely with the fund accountants on a daily basis to address various technology needs.

The following is a list of high-level responsibilities:

·         Serve as a single point of contact for all technology related accounting needs.

·         Address inquiries and technology requests from accountants and auditors.

·         Analyze, document, and track inquires, enhancements, and new development.

·         Perform ad hoc, as needed, data mining requests from accounting personnel.

·         Serve as Project Manager and QA Tester on larger project.

·         Gather business requirements from users (e.g. accounting), document them, and communicate them to developers.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

·         Solid Hedge Fund accounting experience. Candidate should understand and be conversant with:

o        Income character – realized, unrealized, interest and dividend income, etc.

o        Tax lot accounting, FIFO, etc.

o        Partnership Accounting – onshore and offshore partnerships, series accounting, etc.

·         Excel formula experience; Macro experience is a plus.

·         Experience in database / SQL.  Ability to navigate and query for data.

·         Organize and be able to multi-task.

·         Consulting and Big 4 experience is a plus.

Education:

·         Bachelor's Degree preferred.
