JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervising daily accounting functions including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, general ledger, consolidations, cash management, and monthly closing process. Assist Corporate Controller in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, credit & collections, fixed assets, property & sales taxes, consolidation.
Responsible for coordinating and organizing month-end closing and assisting in preparation of monthly financial statements and monthly commentaries on operating results.
Develop and maintain financial systems and procedures to strengthen internal controls throughout the company.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff engaged in calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records.
Issue written and oral instructions to assign duties to subordinates and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to company policies and procedures.
Review monthly, quarterly and annual tax reports and ensure compliance with all filing requirements.
Work closely with Cost Accounting Manager to ensure proper accounting for warranty reserve and inventory reserve.
Prepare and submit reports to management as requested.
Interface with outside auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audit.
Interact with international accountants to ensure subsidiaries comply with timely reporting.
Oversee the accounting for FAS 123R.
Manage Accounting Department.
Recruit and manage training of new personnel.
Give timely and accurate performance and salary reviews.
Motivate and improve the skills of department personnel.
Comply with the company's policies and procedures.
Additional responsibilities as may be assigned.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in PC applications such as MS Word and MS Excel; and PC based accounting software such as Great Plains, SAP or Oracle manufacturing software and FRX Report Writer

Qualifications :
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
BS or BA degree in Accounting or Business Administration
5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Must have prior experience in managerial role with general accounting and financial reporting
CPA preferred
Familiarity with GAAP
