Strategic Analysis is seeking a well-rounded individual to satisfy a requirement for a Radicalization Science & Engineering Technical Assistant (SETA) to support our government client. It is of paramount importance to exceed our client expectations with high integrity and focused attention to milestones. In addition to working well in a team environment, as a successful candidate you will incorporate the following:
Requirements:
· Master’s OR 3-5 years experience AND background in experimental psychology, sociology, or anthropology
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Intuitive, a self-starter
· Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office with regard to Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word required
· Employment is contingent on the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Active U.S. SECRET clearance preferred.
Responsibilities:
In your SETA role, you will support programs that apply social science theories to improve the efficiency and accuracy of intelligence analysis. You will analyze the applicability of social and behavioral science data, models, and theories that have been developed with open source materials to intelligence analyses. This comprises developing an analytical framework enabling intelligence analysts to model likely scenarios for groups to engage in terrorist violence. This framework will include an unclassified comprehensive terrorist incident database supporting analysis of trends, targets, and group violence. You will support studies of terrorist mobilization, recruitment, and operations to inform the policy, intelligence, and operational functions of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). General technical SETA duties will include using PowerPoint and Excel programs to present findings to the government client.
The Radicalization SETA role supports programs that will provide a new capacity to improve identification of terrorist actions through:
· An integrated social and behavioral science analytical framework
· Analysis of individuals who have participated in, or attempted to participate in, violent global activism to understand transition from radicalization to overt participation in global terrorist activity
· Identified patterns of convert radicalization, ideological evolution, training, and operational decision-making
