Family Planning Council, a large, well-regarded not-for-profit agency in downtown Philadelphia, is seeking an experienced Manager-Accounting in our Fiscal Department. The Manager-Accounting supervises the accounts payable and payroll functions and maintains the general ledger. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work closely with all levels of the Fiscal Department, will have excellent organizational skills, will have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and to take initiative for all duties with minimal supervision. Primary job responsibilities include:
· Supervise the Payroll and Accounts Payable functions of the Fiscal Department.
· Prepare and process expense allocation schedules through the general ledger and budget management systems for wages, benefits and indirect expenses.
· Verify the accuracy of the general ledger and the subsidiary accounts.
Act as primary interface with bank on operating matters. Support the Controller in reviewing program budget to actual results to insure expenses are accurate. Work with Department Budget Managers to investigate unanticipated results and variances. Perform monthly audit of petty cash fund. RequirementsMust have a BS in Accounting.Must have 4+ years computerized accounting experience.Must have MS Windows, Network an Excel experience.Must have 2+ years experience in staff supervision.The Council offers a comprehensive benefits package, effective the date of hire, that includes medical, dental, retirement, life and disability insurance.
