Job Description: The Foreign Exchange Operations Group (FX Ops) is looking for a motivated professional to lead the group's Accounting team, with responsibility for ensuring compliance with Group Accounting policies, managing and resolving control deficiencies, communicating issues to senior management, and providing guidance and training to team members. The position also involves providing input and testing for new system implementations within the FX Group that will impact the Accounting process. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, always proactively looking for areas of improvement, be a great communicator, and be able to exercise good business judgment. Responsible for, directly and through subordinates, managing accounting activities for multiple sections or departments. Duties may include: directing completion of complex accounting tasks pertaining to accounts, statements, systems and records; setting standards for and monitoring the review of financial statements and other documentation; creating and implementing controls to ensure accuracy of data; maintaining advanced knowledge of current accounting practices and regulatory requirements; enforcing adherence to internal and external accounting principles and policies; developing methodologies and implementing changes in internal accounting systems; planning, designing and directing the production of financial and regulatory reports; managing response and resolution to audit inquiries; influencing and negotiating with senior management on issues of policy or strategic direction; managing complex accounting projects in support of business goals.
Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA or equivalent and min of 7 yrs significant accounting/financial analysis experience within a bank/financial services institution, including 4+ years mgt exp. An understanding of Financial Markets with emphasis on Foreign Exchange and Derivatives will be an advantage. Master's Degree or equivalent public accounting experience preferred.
