SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Applies the principles of accounting to analyze financial information, reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries and financial reports. This position proceeds independently in some areas of responsibility and may guide the work of other Accountants on any given assignment, depending on skill level and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger.
- Determines accuracy of account balances, financial postings and calculations, and investigates and resolves any discrepancies.
- Establishes adherence to corporate standard chart of accounts and ensures account assignment agrees to the standard definition for account usage.
- Analyzes financial information detailing assets and liabilities. Prepares balance sheet, income statement and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected financial position for managers.
- Responsible for all general accounting transactions and analysis for assigned paper mill.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-5 years of experience in Accounting or financial roles
- BS/BA in Accounting or related financial area; CPA preferred
- Demonstrated financial analysis abilities
- Ability to manage change effectively
- Multi-task orientation
- SAP experience helpful

- Self-motivated and ability to act independently
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills
- PC skills including MS Excel (including pivot tables), Access and SAP
