Job Summary:
The Accountant – Regulatory Reporting is responsible for assisting in preparation and filing of financial regulatory reports, including ARMIS filings as well as other state/federal financial regulatory reports that may e due on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. ARMIS is an FCC reporting system for large Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILEC’s) to report financial, infrastructure and operational information. The state and federal reports include all of FairPoint ILEC operations in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. Performs job duties consistent within safety, legal and regulatory requirements; company standards, culture and business practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with preparation of all regulatory reports and subsequent filings with federal and state agencies as required by regulatory bodies.
• May supervise regulatory accountants as managerial skills are demonstrated.
• Participate in assisting the Finance Department in special projects and other financial requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Working knowledge of Part 32 (Uniform System of Accounts for telephone companies).
• Experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting requirements at the federal and state (Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine) levels.
• Knowledge of ERP systems.
• Strong spreadsheet and analysis skills.
Additional Duties:
• Contributes to department activities and programs by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Education/Experience:
• Must have a four year degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent)
• Must have zero to three years of relevant experience, including familiarity with accounting and financial reporting practices.
