The Account Manager plans, develops, communicates, coordinates and implements Sales and Marketing programs for specific Regional Accounts to ensure optimum sales, customer service and competitive advantage. The position is also responsible for selling new accounts in the assigned territory. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Ensures maximum sales effectiveness consistent with national and regional objectives. Introduces new products/programs to increase market share. Provides/implements annual Business Plan with customer. Significant responsibility for the co-ordination, approval, submittal and final sign off on the co-op advertising program with the account. Maintains effective customer relationships through communication with Regional Account. Effectively communicates information to Sales Management and Sales Representatives that also work on the account in order to maximize sales/support. Apply Company sales programs and techniques to achieve sales plans. Travels throughout assigned territory to call on account locations to solicit orders with or without the representative responsible for the location. Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales. Analyzes sales statistics for ideas to expand services available to the account. Implements all applicable national programs. Performs formal annual review meeting for the account Handles account and consumer complaints quickly and efficiently. Establishes and executes the sales training needs for the account. Provides input regarding product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from the sales line. Coordinates activity with the credit department to assist as necessary. Establishes monitors and evaluates advertising budgets and usage. Helps plan and implement account trade events. Maintains current information of competitive product and activity. Determine need and request products and services to solve account problems. Keeps records and submits a written weekly call report and planning schedule. Analyzes and controls expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements. Active participation in Divisional SHE programs. Other duties as may be assigned by supervision. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) Two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions both in person and on the phone from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to solve problems. Ability to manage diversity. Overnight travel required. Travel requirements will vary from 10% to 60% of time. Must have and maintain a valid driver?s license and have a good driving record. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
