Responsibilities
The Account Manager is responsible for account management and direct sales of national accounts using a consultative sales approach through direct client and agency contact. Responsibilities include selling The NY Times newspaper, Sunday magazine and www.nytimes.com in Southern California, Arizona and Las Vegas. The account manager will develop both print and online proposals, as well as integrated cross-platform programs.
Expertise in using a consultative sales approach with clients and agencies on both strategic and creative levels is a must. Candidate will have a proven track record in breaking new business with the ability to call on agencies and clients at all levels. S/he will be motivated to meet and exceed personal sales goals, as well as quarterly revenue targets. Experience selling both print and online together is a plus.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of advertising sales experience in print and online platforms.
- Ability to create high-quality materials to support the sale. Strong computer skills including PowerPoint and Excel are required.
- Sound business judgment and ability to work independently.
- Interpersonal and communication skills are critical.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to build strong account relationships
- Ability to travel as business requires.
