Customer Development Representative (CDR) is responsible for sourcing new Staples Copy & Print Shop customers targeting small businesses in the area and developing relationships that lead to additional sales of company products and services. In addition, they are also responsible for increasing the sales volume of current Staples Copy and Print Shop customers in the store’s trading area.
The right candidate must be able to develop new business primarily through in-person contacts, phone follow-up, and presentations. The CDR will implement sales strategy and ensure the company meets revenue and profit objectives through targeted prospecting and development of new Staples accounts.
Outside of Store Customer Development:Prospect and develop new Staples customer relationships; driving more footsteps into the store. Partner with store management team on the development of top customer relationship list. Increase total product spend and retention rates among our existing business customer base primarily in the copy and print services. Establish strong community ties with the Chamber of Commerce and local businesses organizations. Use consultative selling skills to identify customer needs and develop a value added proposition. Through in-person contacts (cold calling, prospecting), identify and develop existing Staples business customers. Maintain administrative processes on a daily/weekly basis including electronic entry of contact.Complete the sales tracking verification process as requested by management. Communicate weekly with the General Manager on CDR activity, ideas for future prospecting efforts, goal setting, etc. Successful experience selling, implementing and managing print programs to customers at the administrative, management, and senior management levels.Qualifications:B-to-B sales experience in the copy and print industry, with focus on digital print on demand, corporate identity, document management, and related applicationsCollaborate with customers, production center operations, District Manager, and support staffExcellent communication skills, both written and oral1-2 years of outside sales experienceSelf Reliant/motivatedComputer literacy
