Description: Global specialty & commodity chemical producer is looking to fill a critical Account Manager position in the Los Angeles Area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading organization in the chemical industry. The income opportunity is solid and there are opportunities for advancement. The overnight travel will be approximately 30%.
Responsibilities: Sell a broad range of specialty & commodity chemicals to the detergent, pulp & paper, chemical, petroleum, catalyst, water treatment, and construction & beverage markets in the California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Nevada Marketplaces. Manage an existing territory with established business. Manage pricing and bid preparations. Develop and execute the strategic plan for the territory. Develop and maintain strong business relationships. Manage several key distributor relationships. Travel overnight as needed.
Requirements: Must have a minimum of 5 years of chemical industry sales experience. Prefer a background in commodity chemical raw materials with a producer. A chemical distribution background is also a possibility. Must have strong sales skills and good economic sense. A degree is required. Must have strong organizational skills and strong computer skills. Willing to travel overnight as needed.
Desired: Raw material chemical sales experience with a producer. Strong track record of success.
