Description: Global chemical company is looking to fill a critical sales position based in the Southeast Michigan or Northwest Ohio areas. This is an excellent opportunity to join a very successful entrepreneurial organization focused on selling chemical raw materials to a general industrial manufacturing market. An exciting, fast-paced, and challenging position. Solid income opportunity as well. Very minimal overnight travel required. Excellent opportunities for advancement.Responsibilities: Sell a broad range of commodity & specialty chemicals to a general industrial manufacturing market in the Southeast Michigan & Northwest Ohio areas. Sell on a commercial & technical level to chemists, formulators, and purchasing personnel. Manage an existing territory. Prospect for and develop new opportunities at existing accounts, as well as develop new accounts. Manage pricing, trouble shooting, new product introductions, etc.. Communicate effectively with management, suppliers, and customers. Develop the sales strategy for the territory.Requirements: 3 plus years of experience selling chemical raw materials. A college degree is required, but the concentration is open. Must have a proven trackrecord of sales success. Experience selling a broad product line of both commodities & specialties. Must be very professional, self motivated, have strong follow-up skills, and have the ability to manage many products, accounts, pricing, etc.Desired: 5 plus years of experience selling chemical raw materials.Company Information: Global chemical company. Many divisions and many opportunities for future advancement.Compensation: Base: $65,000 - $75,000. Bonus: 10-20% of base salary per year is realistic average. The cap is at 50%. Company car.
