JOB TITLE: Account Executive
LOCATION: Nashville, Tennessee or surrounding

REPORTS TO: V. P. Wholesale Sales
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for and not limited to generating and closing new wholesale sales opportunities. Carriers (IXC, ILEC, CLEC, ISP, Wireless) that require transport across the KDL network is the target customer set for this position. The Account Executive is responsible for generating sales opportunities via referrals, trade shows, and by developing strong relationships within designated departments within named existing accounts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Prospect new opportunities by referrals, trade shows, response to advertisement, or by contacting carriers direct· Secure opportunities to quote transport services ( DS1, DS3, OCn, Wave circuits, GigE)· Follow up on quotations submitted to customers· Establish professional customer relationships with appropriate customer personnel· Work with Legal in negotiating contracts on secured business.· Work with project managers during implementation process· Submit weekly activity reports concerning customer related activity
· Performing administrative duties as assigned by his/her
supervisor
A successful Account Executive for KDL can perform the essential functions and other tasks assigned by his/her supervisor with minimal supervision. This person will take pride in the work they do (proposals, network diagrams, additional documentation) and it will reflect in the sales presentation. This individual will rely on their talents in conjunction with the skill and expertise of their Sales Engineer in assessing and closing opportunities.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Training/Experience:
Bachelors degree 2 + years of sales experience Telephony, fiber optic, or related technical knowledge Proven track record of successful sales Experience in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelSkills/Knowledge/Personal Qualities:
Excellent Communication Skills (oral and written) Personable with an outgoing personality Well Organized / Sound follow-up skills Detail oriented Ability to grasp technical information Access and ability to drive an automobile Self-motivated and self-starterWorking Conditions:
· Works within a normal office environment
· Requires travel within the geographic area of the KDL network
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holiday’s, extended hours as required by workload.
