Account Executive/Senior Account Executive – Washington, DC

 

Ruder Finn Washington is seeking a motivated Account Executive or Senior Account Executive to join our dynamic and collaborative team. The Account Executive or Senior Account Executive will support our growing healthcare, corporate and non-profit accounts, as well as contribute to new business development.

 

I.          Job Summary:

As a member of the DC office, the Account Executive or Senior Account Executive will assist in researching and analyzing client-related issues and trends, regularly pitching targeted media, and managing day-to-day account activities.  You will report to, and work closely with, mid- and senior-level team management.

                        

II.        Primary Responsibilities:

·         Research and monitor client- and industry-related trends; proactively identify communications opportunities for clients

·         Draft and edit key materials, including core message documents, backgrounders/fact sheets, press releases, newsletters, pitch letters, and presentations

·         Assist in new business research/presentation preparation

·         Liaise with internal service departments (Design, Interactive, Video, Market Research)

·         Develop media lists and targeted reporter pitches; work with key media on story development

·         Handle standard media requests

·         Organize event logistics

·         Assist in account administration (e.g. budgeting, client activity report generation, etc.)

 

III.      Requirements:

·         B.A. in Communications, Journalism or related field

·         Excellent oral and written communications skills

·         Excellent interpersonal skills

·         Ability to work well in a team environment

·         Strong multi-tasking skills

·         Ability to think strategically and work well under pressure

·         Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize competing projects 

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Proficiency in Microsoft suite (basic PowerPoint skills essential)

·         2-4 years public relations experience preferred (may include internship experience)
