The Account Executive III will develop and implement sales strategies targeting Small Business Group (SBG) agents and clients in a given territory for Health Net of California (HNCA). This position will be responsible for the sales of  SBG products throughout the San Jose territory and will use solid knowledge of competition, market environments, and healthcare economics and strategic relationships with internal and external business partners to solidify and upgrade the current business base. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Meet or exceed assigned annual sales goals and penetration of HNCA books of business.Participate in product training with sales management for commercial sales segments.Assist with supporting Health Plan’s General Agents and Brokers in assigned territory.Develop best practices and work to implement those based on local market conditions.Review and respond to RFPs, manage internal strategies, and participate in major sales and renewal presentations.Maintain competitive analysis information and submit to sales management quarterly.Build relationships with internal sales and account management teams to increase new sales and penetrate HNCA books of business.Travel to customer meetings, finalist and presale meetings and other cross-sale related activities.Submit timely Account Executive reports and ad hoc reports upon request.Collaborate with Underwriting (and Sales Management when appropriate) to ensure that the most competitive proposal is offered. Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience   Certification/License:
California Life Agent License    Experience:
Minimum three years successful sales experience in the local managed care environment or related experience with a proven track record of success Experience and solid reputation in working with brokers and GAs in the assigned territory
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong familiarity with health insurance products,  managed care competition, local market environments,  and healthcare economics Must be highly motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve goals Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work strategically with internal and external partners to design presale strategies Excellent organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to learn new systems quickly Ability to travel within assigned territory regularly.  Travel outside of territory may also be required. Ability to build and retain strong business relationships in the Northern and Central California marketplace
