This position is responsible for managing a claims handling unit within a claim office. This is a highly visible position. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Regional Director of Claims and will have approximately 5 direct reports. The work environment is extremely fast-paced and will require an individual who is highly motivated, professional, has the ability to multi-task and has strong technical skills.

 

The North Charleston office is rapidly growing and it is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to work in a team oriented environment where management support  exceeds expectation. RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES

·         Maintain Key Measures at ‘Meets Expectations’ or higher.

·         Responsible for claims results for a unit.

·         Ensure team members provide customers with appropriate level of service and quality.

·         Interview, hire, train, develop and monitor performance of staff.

·         Provide leadership to unit team members.

·         Keep files on diary and provide input and administer payment authority.

·         Responsible for file handling quality in accordance with CG (Claims Guidelines) and Department of Insurance Regulations.

·         Audit employees’ work.

·         Recognize and communicate issues to Management.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

 PREREQUISITES

 

Education

Bachelors degree or equivalent experienceSuccessful completion of AEI – Legal Principles claims law course and/or industry recognized coursework preferred Experience & Skills                          

·         3 – 5 years claims experience

·         Previous management experience preferred

·         Proven leadership skills

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

 

Physical               

·         Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, verbal communications, and visual acuity.
