PRODUCT ENGINEER WHO WE ARE: SATCOM Technologies Kilgore facility is a key component of the General Dynamics C4 Systems division. We have design engineering and manufacturing operation that provides satellite earth station and radio telescope products worldwide. Our VertexRSI brand is recognized worldwide for creating innovative solutions to satisfy technical challenges for a variety of needs. WHERE WE ARE: Kilgore is nicely located in the heart of the piney woods of Northeast Texas. Surrounded by lakes and woods, we enjoy nearby outdoor activities and community events yet are still within easy reach of Dallas and Shreveport by interstate. With a mix of large and small towns, East Texas offers good public and private schools in addition to Kilgore College, LeTourneau University, as well as University of Texas branch campuses. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: The SATCOM Technologies Kilgore facility is looking for a skilled Product/Project Engineer to ensure the technical integrity of the product(s) as it relates to the customer contract requirements. This includes, but is not limited to coordination of all mechanical, electrical and RF interfaces, coordination of trial assemblies, conducting kick-off meetings, and coordinating design reviews. WHAT THE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • Evaluates customer requirements to determine if standard designs are available or if a new design is required. Components that are standard are identified and may be released immediately for production. New design requirements are identified to the appropriate product engineering group for design and documentation. • Reviews and evaluates contract requirements a s defined in the customer Purchase Orders, customer specs., where applicable. • If new design is required, identify (task) it to the appropriate product engineering group. Review design process and schedule. Coordinate design efforts and interfaces between various groups. • Release all contract line items for production and/or shipping. If a standard is available, record the appropriate component number, else enter TBD for pending new design release. • Review and release contract new design documentation from each product engineering group. Update and release for production as required. • Coordinate trial assemblies and trial assembly procedures in order to meet contract requirements or to prove new design conditions. • Release through the Senior Program Manage or Program Manager the contract Engineering Interface Package (EIP) to the customer, if required. This should identify all General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies customer interfaces. • Issue and approve Project Documentation Package (PDP), including component, Bill Of Materials, drawings, and Operations &Maintenance Manuals.
