Position Summary
Performs day-to-day management of the division´s project planning for a group of contracts/orders with the appropriate program, project, contract and functional organizations to include forecasting sales and associated manpower/resource requirements, detailed schedule preparation, milestone and critical path statusing, schedule maintenance, performance measurement, labor and material cost estimating and reporting to facilitate both short and long term business growth and financial optimization.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Develop, prepare, and analyze integrated program plans, schedules, and budgets; develop business case analyses; and perform financial analyses (e.g., funding profiles, staffing and equipment forecasts, rates of return, estimates at completion, variance analysis, etc.)
· Maintains and statuses project schedules, cost and resource plans and provides weekly, monthly and quarterly project reports to Senior Management.
· Proactively seek and communicate relevant information regarding program cost and schedule performance trends to Management and staff.
· Assess business performance and prepare financial forecasts that ensure that integrated costs and schedules are within negotiated parameters and control guide lines
· Coordinate with the Contracts, Pricing, Program Management, Accounting, and the Functional Departments, developing budget baselines, calculating Earned Value performance, and forecasting Estimates at Completion for DRS PCT contracts/orders.
· Trains and mentors other Project Coordinators as required.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor´s Degree in a technical related disipline or a Business degree required. Advanced degree a plus. 7-10 years experience , with at least 5 years in project or program management.Two (2) years experience in government contract scheduling activities sought. Significant experience with project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, or Microsoft Project); experience with P3e/TeamPlay a plusPast experience using an earned value management system, required PMP Certification a plus.U.S. Citizenship Required.
Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge
Working knowledge of Government contracting sought; specific DoD experience a plus.Understanding of project cost and schedule management required; previous DoD Earned Value experience required.Very strong communication skills (oral and written).Extensive organizational and time management skills; must be able to work in a deadline drive environment.Strong personal computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office and project scheduling software.
