Junior Engineer working under close supervision of senior engineers, responsible for providing engineering support related to environmental and hazardous waste projects including site assessments, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, designs, and construction-phase services.
Support field investigation activities including sampling and support roles.
Perform calculations in support of design and construction/remediation projects.
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, test data, aerial photographs, and other technical information. Calculate costs and determine feasibility of remediation technologies.
Prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, specifications, construction schedules, and designs for projects. Research relevant regulations and regulatory guidance.
Other duties may be assigned.
Experience in planning and implementing environmental investigations and in interpreting environmental reports and regulations.
Experience and proficiency in interpreting quantitative analytical data, using databases, and report writing.
Some GIS and database management skills preferred.
Forty-hour OSHA training preferred.
Knowledge of environmental regulations (RCRA, CERCLA,) is beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, geotechnical, chemical, or related engineering plus 1 to 3 years of relevant experience. Master’s degree preferred. EIT registration is desirable.
